While Boulogne-Levallois conceded during the derby against Paris a second loss in a row in Betclic Elite, Monaco fell on the floor of Nanterre. Strasbourg, for its part, returned to victory against Limoges.
Boulogne-Levallois is going through a difficult period. After seeing his streak of twelve straight victories in Betclic Elite come to an end, the championship leader failed to emerge victorious from the derby against Paris. After a very good match, the Metropolitans conceded a 13-0 which completely revived the Parisians. However, Axel Toupane’s teammates (16 points, 6 rebounds) were unable to break away before halftime, reaching a two-point lead. However, the players of the Capital club never let up throughout the second half of the match.. Despite Miralem Halilovic (22 points, 9 rebounds) and Vince Hunder (21 points, 9 rebounds), Vincent Collet’s men could not do better than return to height before stalling at the start of the fourth quarter. Led by twelve points, the latter reacted to return to four lengths but lost in the end by five units (83-78). A third defeat in fifteen games which Monaco failed to take advantage of.
Monaco falls in Nanterre
And it was the other Hauts-de-Seine team that did Boulogne-Levallois a favor. Indeed, Nanterre lost in Monaco their fifth defeat in fifteen games. Both teams had several streaks in the first quarter but it was the players of the “Roca Team” who completed the first quarter ahead by five points. Throughout the second, the teammates of Ibrahima Fall Faye (24 points, 6 rebounds led the score except in the last moments. Nanterre, under the impetus of Chris Horton (23 points, 10 rebounds) took control at the start of the second half but the gap did not exceed ten points until the start of the fourth, at the end of a 12-3. The Monegasques pushed in the last moments but failed to four points ( 87-83). A setback that sees the Principality club stay two wins behind Boulogne-Levallois while Le Mans could come back up to par this Sunday.
Strasbourg is moving forward
In the meantime, the MSB has seen Strasbourg come back up to par. The SIG, beaten during its last two outings in the league, was able to capitalize on its European success against PAOK Salonika to find colors on the hexagonal scene. For this, the Alsatians bent Limoges in a one-sided first quarter and finished with a fifteen-point lead. Matt Mitchell’s teammates (21 points) made this match a lone rider for a victory of 31 points (97-66) which allows them to stay ahead of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Indeed, Elan Béarnais took the best of Orleans, beaten for the third time in a row, in an undecided meeting until the last quarter (94-85). Bourg-en-Bresse, for its part, did not go far from a miracle. Subscribers absent in the first quarter, led by 19 points after ten minutes, the Burgiens reversed the trend to take Châlons-Reims into overtime. However, the Champenois ended up having the last word in the five extra minutes (97-98 ap), signing a second victory in a row.
