At the Toulouse tattoo parlour: cover up this tattoo that I no longer want to see
The fourteenth edition of the Toulouse Tattoo Convention started this Saturday, January 15 at the Diagora-Labège convention center. It brings together nearly 200 professionals from France and around the world until Sunday evening. Among them, the specialists of “cover-up” or “recovery”.
Unsightly tattoo, which disturbs or which recalls a bad memory, tattoos do not always stick to our skin anymore. Fortunately, talented professionals offer to replace existing tattoos with new pieces in line with your desires of the moment.

“The idea is to cover a tattoo with another tattoo that will hide the first one. You have to study the initial tattoo and make sure that the new one can adapt to it,” explains Sax, a Parisian tattoo artist. Often different from the initial tattoo, the tattoo to be covered can be facilitated by laser sessions, especially when it is too dark or too imposing: “Sometimes customers have huge, very dark tattoos that they cannot stand more. In this case, they go through the laser to reduce them, they get their tattoos down to such a level that we can arrange them,” adds Sax.
If the coverage of a tattoo is a popular technique, it does not constitute a miracle solution and does not apply to all tattoos: “The new tattoo can never be less dense than the initial, it is necessary to count about twice the size of the tattoo to be covered in order to slide the new motif into another motif” indicates the Parisian tattoo artist.
Do you then want to erase a failed tattoo without opting for the radical solution of tattoo removal? Camouflage is for you!
