Meeting with Mélanie Dupuy, the new President of the Junior Economic Chamber of Monaco
Mélanie Dupuy was elected last December to succeed Marion Soler. She has been in office since January 1.
The torch has passed. After two years at the head of the Junior Economic Chamber of Monaco (JCEM), two special years characterized by the health crisis, Marion Soler officially handed over her powers as President on December 15 to Mélanie Dupuy. A ceremony of passion rich in emotions for this 39-year-old Monegasque resident, real estate manager at the Gramaglia agency.
” With Marion, we shared the evening together, we were really delighted with this transition between her and me, recalls Melanie. It was an opportunity to give my guideline for 2022 and to present my team. I am lucky to be very well wrapped up, to have a very beautiful energy around me. »
A guideline focused on the realization of ongoing projects. ” When you decide to make many changes, you have to see them through. If every year, we change everything, we lose quality. My objective is really to support the projects that have been thought out by our members, which were tested at the end of 2021 but which must grow. ” For example, « Innov’Inside to promote intrapreneurship and promote employee projects in their company. Also on the program: public round tables and a mentoring project.
And despite a mandate that promises to be placed under the sign of the health crisis, the young woman remains optimistic. ” I accompanied Marion throughout this period, it was necessary to rethink the movement. Today, we are less surprised, we know that we have to adapt to the context. We continue to plan events, but with plans B. »
When I set foot in Junior Chamber, I never wanted to leave
Get out of your comfort zone
So many challenges that do not scare Mélanie, who can rely on her solid experience and background. Holder of a master’s degree in information and communication, the young woman worked in the fields of telecom and recruitment before joining the Gramaglia agency five years ago, then the JCEM in 2018.
” I really liked the economic and dynamic side of Junior Chamber. As soon as I was able to integrate the movement, I participated in the organization of my first event, the “ start-up weekend “. When I set foot in Junior Chamber, I never wanted to leave says the young woman.
For her, being part of the JCEM also means getting out of her comfort zone: ” we do things that have nothing to do with our profession. We discover and learn a lot of things, it’s very educational. »
And it is with nostalgia that she evokes her strongest memory within the Junior Chamber: her first speech in front of all the members, a few months after her arrival. ” It was in the hemicycle of the National Council. It was a solemn moment, a moment of sharing with the other members. I still remember what I said at that time, it marked me so much. »

“A year to guide”
Strengthened by her involvement as a member of the Board of Directors of the Junior Chamber, as Vice-President for training and partnerships and then Secretary, Mélanie Dupuy did not hesitate to present her candidacy for the presidency. ” When I was elected, what I felt was quite strong. (…) It is an honor to represent a movement that advocates such fine values and is recognized in Monaco. »
It is therefore with complete confidence that Mélanie approaches her mandate, during which she can count on the support of her predecessor. ” With Marion, on a special bond. Last year, as Secretary General, I was his main support. I supported him throughout the year, which gave me optimal preparation to succeed him. (…) Junior Chamber is “ a year to guide », we know that we have this responsibility, but we don’t do things alone: we all do them together. »
And in the space of just a few days, since taking office on January 1, Mélanie Dupuy immediately took her role seriously. ” One of the things we are told the most is that the year goes by very quickly. All the Presidents say it and I will say it in my turn. A team seminar and a few project manager meetings have already been organised, to make the most of this mandate. ” The JCEM is aimed at active people aged 18 to 40. My journey within the movement will therefore end at the end of next year. »
Until then, a single objective for the new President: to give the best of herself, as in all her businesses.
