Penta bought another medical facility, a clinic in Prague
Penta Hospitals CZ, which operates several regional hospitals, dispensaries and a network of specialized Alzheimer’s centers in the Czech Republic, has announced another acquisition. It will take over the company Vršovická zdravotní, which operates a clinic of the same name in Prague focused on orthopedics, physiotherapy and inpatient rehabilitation. In a short time, it is the second significant business of Penta Hospitals. In December, it has so far announced that it will also compete with the nationwide network of Alezheimer centers, making it the largest domestic provider of care for patients with this type of disease. In both cases, the amount of the transaction was not commented on by the company.

Vršovická zdravotní has been operating on the market since 2009 and provides care for patients from all over the Czech Republic. As the only facility in the Czech Republic, it offers comprehensive surgical treatment of the hip joint, including the so-called conservation operation, ie “repair” of the hip without a single joint replacement. “Penta Hospitals is a guarantee for us of the high quality of care provided and at the same time an opportunity to expand the range of our services and move the level of the clinic to a higher level,” said doctor and member of the Supervisory Board of Vršovice Health Care Luboš Kmeť. Today, the Vršovice Clinic has 72 beds and a wide portfolio of outpatient health care, state-of-the-art operating rooms and inpatient follow-up rehabilitation care. Since 2013, it has also operated a follow-up intensive care unit.
“Pentu Hospitalm as a partner that allows us to see growth in the future and bring new treatments and methods to our patients. The continuity of care will be maintained, but at the same time there will be room for further improvement of patient services and care for our employees, “added Peter Kysela, the clinic’s operations director.
The largest Czech network of facilities for patients with Alzheimer’s is established
According to Barbora Vaculíková, CEO of Pental Hospitals CZ, the structure of the clinic’s care fully fits into the concept and fields on which the company focuses. “Its inclusion in the group will make it possible to deepen the cooperation of Vršovická zdravotní with our facilities and jointly develop fields such as long-term intensive care, orthopedics or rehabilitation,” said Vaculíková. “Our goal is to further strengthen the position of the Penta Hospitals group together with a major provider of health and social services in the Czech Republic,” added Vaculíková.
Penta Hospitals CZ is part of the Penta Hospitals International holding, which, with more than 13,000 employees, more than 30 hospitals and more than 40 other healthcare facilities, is one of the most important providers of health and social services in Central Europe. In the Czech Republic, Penta Hospitals operates, for example, hospitals in Sokolov, Ostrov, Roudnice nad Labem or Vrchlabí, together with networks of specialized care centers for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and polyclinics. The holding is owned by the Penta investment group. It is also the owner of the Vltava Labe Media company, which publishes Deník.
