The 10th JACKPOT episode is one little trip through happy Berlin. From one of the 1,000 Berliners LOTTO acceptance points it goes to the Schlosspark Theater, where the chimney sweepers guild hands over a donation check to the Berlin animal shelter, and from there to Animal protection association for Berlin to Falkenberg. Always in the thick of it: Moderator Michael, who talks to the lucky charm and the handover godfather Didi Hallervorden, Alain black silver from the chimney sweep guild and Anette Rost from the Animal Welfare Association for Berlin learns what LOTTO Berlin, chimney sweeps and black dogs have in common. So much in advance: They all ensure small and large Berlin moments of happiness. That’s why, among other things the “Black brings happiness” initiative responsible. In addition to many good reasons why the color black brings happiness, it is also about breaking down prejudices – and about Klaus the mini pig, who, together with moderator Michael and his interviewees, the JACKPOT listener, best wishes for the new one Year sends.
What actually happens when you are on Golden button on a chimney sweep’s vest turns? Not much at first. Says someone who should know. Alain Rappsilber has been with us for over 30 years as a chimney sweep in Berlin-Kreuzberg active and committed to the “Black brings happiness” initiative. In an interview with podcast host Michael, he says: “The thing about happiness takes place in the head. Even if you rub the button, you have your wishes and you should remember them and hope or believe that they will come true. There have been people with a lottery ticket from the acceptance point and scratched it, or when we sometimes have this huge number Jackpots you notice that immediately. ”
So it is clear: Berliners: inside are superstitious – at least when it comes to your happiness. So it’s no wonder that Alain Rappsilber and his colleague are often used as lucky charms. finally apply Chimney sweeps as messengers of luck in black. But why is that actually the case? Alain Rappsilber explains: “Well, that comes from a tradition: Our craft is several centuries old and it used to be that there were no more major, devastating fires when the chimney sweep was sweeping, because the houses are often made of straw and clay, or I’ll tell you were built and if a spark was there or flew, then entire cities would burn down. And every time the chimney sweep came into the village, it didn’t happen anymore, and that’s when this belief emerged: Black brings luck. But of course it’s not a belief, but reality and truthfulness instead of superstition. ”
Regardless of whether it is superstition or tradition – the conversation with the chimney sweep from Kreuzberg is an opportunity for moderator Michael to give everyone LOTTO: inside good luck for the new year 2022 to wish. By the way, luck can also use the animal residents of the animal welfare association for Berlin, for which the Berlin chimney sweep guild has launched a very special initiative.
Black brings luck to (LOTTO-) yellow – and helps fur noses to find a new home
Not only do the Berlin LOTTO players trust the men in black when they challenge their luck, too Anette Rost, press spokeswoman for the Animal Welfare Association for Berlin, relies on the chimney sweeps and the one founded by the Berlin chimney sweep guild Initiative “Black brings luck”. The focus of the action are animals with black fur. Because these are 65% more difficult to convey than conspecifics of different colors. A good reason to support the black furry friends with a large-scale campaign to find a new home.
In the middle: Didi Hallervorden, actor, artistic director and managing director of the Berlin Schlosspark Theater. Here, accompanied by the JACKPOT team and moderator Michael, takes place during the recordings for the 10th podcast episode the handing over of a donation check at the Berlin animal shelter. When asked why him animal welfare is so close to my heart, answers Glückspate Didi Hallervorden: “When it comes to a good cause, I am always there to support it and I also have to say: What would our country be without all the volunteers, without initiatives like this one and what if the people just couldn’t understand it that animals die are living beings that need love, need affection, and I always say to parents: Teaching your child not to step on an ant is just as important for the journey as it is for the child. ”
We support “Black Bringing Happiness” with funds, among other things of the LOTTO Foundation Berlin. After all, people here are particularly familiar with luck and are happy to give a little of it to the many animal residents of the Berlin animal shelter.

The Berlin animal shelter is Europass largest and most modern animal shelter and completely on 16 hectares Country dogs, cats, birds, a large number of extraordinary exotic species such as geckos, bearded dragons or monkeys – and Klaus, the mini-pig. In a conversation with Anette Rost, moderator Michael quickly realized who was doing this Secret star of the property is. The press spokeswoman for the animal welfare association for Berlin goes into raptures: “Klaus is young and very active and Klaus is always, always, always in a good mood. This is so cute. Klaus also listens to his name, so it really is, if you call him, Klaus comes running and Klaus is also incredibly handsome. “
And what’s more, the mini pig is looking for a loving home, too like about 3300 more animals every year – above all the animals with black fur. “It is indeed the case that the black fur colors are a clear obstacle to mediation”, confirms Anette Rost, “And as Alain just said, it just dragged on for centuries and that’s why we’re so glad that we just have someone who says: So, we’ll do the lobbying now.” Chimney sweep Alain Rappsilber proudly adds: “And the great thing is that almost all of the animals have already been placed. It is actually our main goal of this action that the animals that are shown are also conveyed, and that extends as far as the Taunus. We are not only known in Berlin, but also in the Taunus and beyond. “
If you want to support the initiative, you can do so with the purchase of the lovingly designed calendar the “Schwarz Glück brings” campaign and recommendations to friends, family and acquaintances. He thinks: “We Berliners would definitely not be Berliners if we couldn’t manage everything.” Moderator Michael has nothing more to add to that.
