Toulouse: the delay of the Zone without polluting vehicles (ZFE) in question at the National Assembly
The implementation of the Low Emission Zone (ZFE), which will exclude the most polluting vehicles from Toulouse, is several months behind schedule. The deputy for the 2nd district of Haute-Garonne, Jean-Luc Lagleize, will ask the Minister of Transport for explanations at the National Assembly on Tuesday, January 11.
Why so much delay in setting up the Low Emission Zone (ZFE) in Toulouse? Why are pollution control measures so different from one metropolis to another? The deputy for Haute-Garonne, Jean-Luc Lagleize (Modem), will question the Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari on the subject, Tuesday January 11, during the questioning session to the government.
The ZFE knows a great disparity of application, “strict application in Toulouse, to measures more flexible in other metropolises like Paris or Grenoble “, explains the deputy.” Regulatory imprecision “still existing, according to him.
“Many questions arose on the perimeter, the vehicles targeted, the days and times of exclusion”
“In Paris, the ban on polluting vehicles in the ZFE is only valid during the week, from 8 am to 8 pm. An exemption is possible for collection vehicles, which is also the case in Grenoble or Strasbourg . In Strasbourg, the metropolis has put in place a system allowing users not to have an approved vehicle to access the ZFE anyway, on an ad hoc basis, if necessary. “
This freedom left to communities involves in particular a “complicated social acceptance”, adds the deputy. “Many questions have arisen on the perimeter, the vehicles targeted, the days and times of exclusion.”
The implementing decree for the LOM law, which should allow the implementation of the ZFE in Toulouse, was announced last September, but it has still not been published to this day, remarks the deputy.
