Brandenburg courts waive the 3G rule – BZ Berlin
3G, 2G, 2G plus: Anyone who has not been vaccinated, tested or recovered has to stay outside quickly. Also in Berlin’s courts. But Brandenburg courtrooms remain open to everyone – even to unvaccinated people!
Crowd in the Potsdam district court: almost 50 judges, state attorneys and lawyers, reporters, cameramen and viewers wanted to see the death nurse Ines R. (52) shortly before Christmas Eve. Nobody had to go to the corona test beforehand. The thin surgical mask was enough.
Unthinkable in Berlin. Since December 8th, the following applies here: Nobody can go to court without 3G proof! “Anyone who does not show a QR code will be sent to the next test station,” says spokeswoman Lisa Jani. It is only 150 meters from the regional court in Potsdam.
But Justice Minister Susanne Hoffmann (61, CDU) considers the short way to be a “significant obstacle” in the constitutionally protected free access to the court. She has been blocking controls for months. When Potsdam’s social court introduced the 3G rule, Hoffmann promptly overturned it.
Now the judges are helping themselves: “The majority of colleagues are arranging 3G in their courtroom,” says judge Claudia Matusch. The Cottbus administrative court distributes free FFP2 masks. Potsdam’s district court chief Ramona Pisal will now even “order them at short notice”.
