The mystery of the ghost motorway junction of Frisange in Luxembourg
Imagined 26 years ago and built 18 years ago for the inauguration of the Saar motorway between Luxembourg and Germany.
No one has ever seen a car on it
The shoulder strap is completely covered with foam.
At the entrance, there are large barriers that prevent you from entering.
But what a terrible secret is behind this freeway from hell !?
A long legal battle!
This ghost motorway junction could change the lives of Mosellans in the area of Evrange, Basse-Rentgen or even Roussy-le-village when they want to go to Germany.
It allows you to immediately join the A13 (known as the Saar motorway) as soon as you enter Luxembourg.
The A13 is very practical because it goes as far as Schengen and it then turns into the A8 in Germany and goes through Sarrelouis, Deux-Ponts or Pirmasens.
Instead, as the slip road is closed, motorists have to go through the town of Frisange and make a detour to use another entrance slip road which is towards Mondorf-les-Bains.
The Saar motorway was decided in 1996 and opened in 2003.
Luxembourg thinks it has done everything within the rules of Frisange, it came across a recalcitrant farmer who contested in 2000 the purchase price of his land where the motorway junction is located.
Immediately, the sale was blocked … but the land still belongs to the farmer with his freeway on it (!) And it is formal, cars must not pass on his land!
Luxembourg plays the watch and says to itself that it will end up getting bored … but not at all and in addition, other farmer’s affairs (which do not concern the ramp) are added on top … total blockage until in 2016 where finally justice gets involved.
And miracle, it has just given reason in Luxembourg, 18 years after the inauguration of the motorway.
The Frisange ramp to Germany will be able to open … soon
On condition that :
– the farmer does not appeal (which is not certain at all),
– and that the shoulder strap be redone because in 18 years, it has been totally degraded by the foam.
So you still think that it is only in France that we are able to block an entire project with administrative delays ?!
