Prague – The hockey players of České Budějovice won the 40th round of the extra league on the Sparta 5: 1 ice and defeated it for the third time in this after two home wins. Under the fourth Triumph of Motor from the last five matches with three points for two goals and assisted by Lukáš Pech, who became the 72nd member of the Hockey Shooters’ Club of the daily Sport thanks to a total of 250 goals in the domestic highest competition and national team. Two points (1 + 1) were scored by the Prague striker Zdeněk Doležal, who is a guest from Sparta in Motor. The South Bohemians moved to the eighth place in the table, the Spartans dropped to the tenth position after three wins.
Before the opening bulls, Sparta praised striker Forman, who entered the 500th match in her jersey as the 13th player in club history. The home team started, but Thorell did not beat Hrachovina and Forman did not succeed either. Pech was a disappointment, however. The Prague team prevailed in the 15th minute just after the end of their power play. In it, Captain Řepík had not yet hit a half-exposed goal, but a moment later Chlapík found Horák ending in front of the goal area. He could have increased at the end of the opening act, but just before Hrachovina last time.
At the beginning of the second period, the visiting Doležal shot a stick and Horák, on the other hand, missed in the numerical advantage. In the 27th minute, Motor leveled up when Doležal found a gap between Salák’s concretes from an angle. The South Bohemians took the initiative and Captain Gulaš was supposed to fight in the middle of the match, but he overshot.
In the 35th minute, in a four-on-four game, Chlapík skated into the ring and overcame Hrachovina. However, České Budějovice took the coach’s request due to the position of one of the Spartans in the visiting goal area and the referee canceled the goal.
Instead, the guests took the lead in the 37th minute. Salák did not reach an agreement with the defender Polášek, he uncovered the puck and Valský scored. At the end of the middle part, Pech increased after renumbering two to one after Vondrk’s pass.
Until last season, Sparta’s support in the 47th minute scored the fourth goal of Motor with a shot from the circle to the top of the goal. Pech scored 248 goals in the extra league, scoring two more in the national team.
Salák was replaced by Machovský, who did not do well. In the middle of the third act, the quarterback Piskáček overcame him in weakening with a sharp shot across the entire field. The former captain of Sparta has been among the shooters in the extra league for the first time since January 2020. The engine won the highest competition on Sparta ice after five matches for the first time since November 2011.
