148 classes closed, strike and demonstration scheduled for Thursday
Since the resumption of classes and the end of the Christmas holidays, 1,686 cases of students positive for the coronavirus have been recorded in the Lyon academy. And 158 cases among the staff. Result: 148 classes were closed Friday, according to figures communicated by the rectorate of Lyon, specifying that the first deliveries of surgical masks, ordered by the Ministry of National Education, were to take place “from mid-January”.

“The new protocol places the full weight of monitoring the screening and isolation families’ journey on the staff, already exhausted by the situation, and on them. It is inapplicable and insufficiently protective. Working conditions are deteriorating everywhere, in particular for school principals, but also AEDs and AESHs who find themselves on the front line, ”he adds.
A demonstration is planned in Lyon, Thursday at 2 p.m. at the start of the Academic Inspectorate.
