For the first time, there will be an outdoor ice rink on Sofijské náměstí in Prague 12
The city district will support the operation from its budget. The spokesperson of Prague 12, Eva Burianová, told ČTK. Praguers can also skate for free on other public ice rinks in the metropolis.
“We managed to save money within the city district budget also due to covid measures, which did not allow for the implementation of all planned cultural and social events. At the same time, we managed to obtain a very advantageous offer for the rental of the ice rink, “said the first deputy mayor of Prague 12, Vojtěch Kos (ODS), who is responsible for, among other things, the finances and budget of the city district.
According to Burianová, the ice rink will be open daily from 09:00 to 20:00. Children from schools and primary schools in Prague 12 can skate for free, all-day admission for adults will be 60 crowns. Skate rental is also available on site.
Those interested can also skate free of charge at the ice rink at the Hvězda park in Prague 6 or at Letná, where the ice rink was established for the sixth time by the Prague City Hall. The first part of the city opened a new ice rink on Střelecký Island. Citizens of Prague 1 and children under the age of ten can skate there free of charge. Admission is also free at the ice rink in the Kupecký Leisure Complex in the South Town. The operation of the ice rink on the premises of the Blue School is financed from its budget in Prague 11.
Public outdoor ice rinks are now located in various locations in Prague. Some operations in this winter start as early as the end of November 2021. Other rink operators anticipate that they will be operational by spring.
