Toulouse. The owners’ anger against the Stay’in agency
Unpaid bills, late payments, several owners denounce the practices of the Toulouse real estate agency Stay’in. Some are threatening to take legal action.
The promise of the Toulouse real estate agency Stay’in is tempting: high-end seasonal rentals from Bordeaux to Toulouse via Paris, Amiens or the overseas departments and territories. “The company found a point of honor to put people at the heart of relationships,” says this start-up on its website. But in recent months, the machine seems to have seized up. Many landlords no longer receive the rents they are owed. This is the case of Charle P., owner of an apartment in Toulouse: “I had a long-term tenant but with the health crisis, he had to leave the accommodation. I had trouble finding a tenant then I turned to Stay’Iin, they looked serious, ”explains the manager of a 41-year-old landscaping company. A management mandate is signed in May 2021 but very quickly, the owner will go from disillusionment to disillusionment: “From the start, there were delays in payment. When I reported it, I was told that it there was a problem with the company’s software “. In October 2021, there is no longer any question of delay, Charles P. no longer receives his rents. “They owe me approximately 1,800 euros”, annoys the owner. Other Stay’in clients also denounce the agency’s actions, such as Christophe B, real estate agent, who owns two apartments in Toulouse: “I have four months of unpaid bills, which represents 9,000 euros. Businesses can have problems, especially in this context, I hear it. But what displeases me above all, it is that one hides us the financial difficulties of the company “, he annoys. Because the real estate agency still received rent from tenants but did not pay them back. “For me, they have diverted the rents from their initial purpose”, indignant Charles P.
Stay’in has been in great financial difficulty for a few months, as the agency acknowledges in a letter sent to an owner: started at least in September, which did not receive Stay’in to contract with new owners: “I signed a mandate in October 2021 and since then I have not received any rent”, explains Marie *, who owns an apartment in Toulouse. Contacted, Stay’in did not respond to our requests at the time of writing. But the start-up proposed, at the end of November, an amicable protocol to the owners in order to reimburse the unpaid bills over the months. What most of them refuse. Some even say they are ready to take the company to court.
