The procession of the Three Kings will pass through the streets of Krakow
Today, on January 6, the 12th Orszak of the Three Kings will wander the streets of Krakow. Thanks to the new form, despite the pandemic, it can take place in public space and on the Internet. The slogan of this year’s procession is the cry “Happy today!” from the Christmas carol “From the birth of the Lord”.
The procession will go on three routes: from the Wawel Cathedral, the Salesian Village of the World and from Matejko Square. Appears to public gatherings, and the limit of three assemblies up to 100 people, assembly up to 100 people. Due to this restriction, people observing the march of the retinue are asked not to join it. Willing ones can follow the behavior.
Cortege routes
red retinue – the European route from the Wawel Cathedral, Droga do Zamku and Grodzka streets.
Green procession – symbolizing the Asian continent, will depart from the Salesian Park of the Village of the World, at ul. Tyniecka, and then to the church of St. Stanisław Kostka at ul. Confederate. From there, take the route: ul. Bałuckiego – through the Dębnicki market – Dębnicki Bridge – Retoryka – Garncarska – Studentska Street to the Church of St. Anny and in front of it, in Planty, it turns to Szewska Street, and continues along it to the Main Square.
The blue procession – the African one will depart from Matejki Square and go along Rynek Floriańska Street to the Main Street.
Actors of the retinue
All members of the procession will start around 11.00. The role of monarchs will be played by actors, however, of course, the actors are children who will play the roles of little knights and courtiers. Then to schools. Their students will perform in shepherd’s clothes and will keep order as guardians of the procession.
The cortege on the Main Square
Three members or a jack will meet in the Main Market Square, keeping a safe distance. About keeping the distance and the balance of safety rules that are needed who will come.
The three kings will go to the stage under the Town Hall Tower, where they will worship the newborn Child. From the stage, from 11.00 a.m., a line of rhythm and pills will flow from the stage by a team of artists from Krakow’s scenes. Carol singing on the market will be conducted by the singer, presenter, vocalist of the Galicja band – Lidia Jazgar with the announcers: Łukasz Lech and Bartek Sobieraj.

The procession of charity
For many years, as part of the Orsha of the Three Kings in Krakow, data has been collected for financial aid for homeless care by the Work of Help of St. Padre Pio. The organization currently runs 12 apartments in which individuals and families do not have access to independent living “roof” and learn everyday life: time management, budgeting or taking care of common bandwidth.
Since 2012, with the help of the Help of St. Padre Pio has already benefited from about 130 people in the homelessness crisis. So far, the “former” has already managed to turn out 51 tenants of flats to become independent. More on: www.dzielopomocy.pl
Partners and organizers of the procession
The trail supports the Work of Help of St. Padre Pio – the organization was founded over 17 years ago in Krakow on the initiative of Capuchin brothers to help in experiencing homelessness.
The Asian cortege co-organizing sales, headed by the Salesian Missionary Volunteering Youth for the World. Missionary Volunteering has been supporting missionaries with prayer, volunteering and material help for 25 years.
The procession is also supported by scouts of the Polish Scouting Association and Scouts of Europe. The bands sing in the processions: Brass Band from Skomielna Czarna and Krakowiacy.
The main organizer of the Cortege of the Three Kings is the Kacper, Melchior and Balthazar Foundation.
The city of Krakow is the partner of the event.
