The first half of 2021 was again complicated for the travel sector, as explained by the director of Luxair, who specifies that a rebound occurred from the summer.
2,900 people working at Luxair, between 200 and 300 employees are still affected by partial unemployment, several days a month. Gilles Feith, CEO of the Luxembourg airline, is delighted that few of his employees have recourse to full short-time work.
Despite a high vaccination rate, countries like Spain or Portugal have recorded very high new contamination figures in recent days, with the Omicron variant well present throughout Europe, which has not really scared the public. many tourists who were well motivated to leave.
The national airline is offering 91 different destinations this year, with Senegal as a novelty.
