Ex-Hertha Kovac is now coach Korkut in the neck? – BZ Berlin

For many Hertha fans, Kovac embodies the longing coach, the ideal solution. Is he already sitting on the bosses of the current coach Tayfun Korkut (47)?
The fact is: Dardai’s successor Korkut only has a contract until the summer. In his previous Bundesliga positions (Hanover, Leverkusen, Stuttgart), he was mostly an interim solution.
However: If he continues to develop Hertha positively in the second half of the season (so far seven points from four games) and above all playfully advance, he has a chance of staying.
In the “RBB” manager Fredi Bobic (50) last said: “Maybe there will be a lot of trainers available in the summer. But that doesn’t mean that these are the best coaches for Hertha’s situation. “
Nevertheless: Kovac is on the market and probably not for long. He’s a top coach, an opportunity that won’t come back anytime soon for Hertha.
For Kovac speaks: He knows Berlin, Hertha and especially Bobic. They already worked together successfully at Eintracht from 2016 to 2018. Coronation: the cup victory in the Olympic Stadium after a 3-1 win over Bayern. Many Herthaers also long for winning the cup.
But not only Bobic is a Kovac fan, the entire management floor of the club is impressed by the ex-midfielder, who was born in Wedding.
When Ante Covic (46) was released in November 2019, Kovac was at the top of the list as the successor. But since he is friends with Covic and is also the godfather of his son Maurice (23), he canceled.

Kovac then to BILD: “It would be disrespectful to relieve a family member and take over his office.”
Before the Labbadia commitment in April 2020, there was renewed contact – and again a rejection.
Now it’s different! After leaving France, Kovac can recharge his batteries, spend a lot of time with the family and think about his further career as a coach in order to start over – in Berlin?
