Arsenal “close to recruiting Sweden’s prodigy Alexander Isak to replace Aubameyang as Real Sociedad BAN Barcelona transfer”
ARSENAL are reportedly close to signing Alexander Isak after Real Sociedad banned him from joining Barcelona.
The National claims that the Swedish striker, 22, will replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month after an impressive period in Spain.
Isak joined Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and has scored 38 goals in 101 matches – including 17 last term.
It is now believed that Isak will leave Sociedad after they end up in the LaLiga table.
And Arsenal seem to be his most likely destination.
Barcelona were said to be extremely keen after Xavi’s return as coach.
The Catalans need a striker after seeing Sergio Aguero retire.
But Sociedad has reportedly blocked Isak from all negotiations with Barcelona.

And that means Arsenal seem to have won the race for their coveted signature.
Captain Aubameyang has been set aside by Mikel Arteta following a disciplinary offense.
And he may have played his last game for the club, with his last appearance in early December.
Alexandre Lacazette is also set to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next month.
And Isak is now on his way to becoming Arsenal’s new No9 under Arteta.
He was also considered a target for Juventus, but the Italians are chasing Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauro Icardi instead.
This is because Barcelona is also after Alvaro Morata, who wants to be the second Spaniard to sign for Xavi after Man City’s Ferran Torres.
