No formalization for the departure of Kovac
This information comes as the departure of Niko Kovac, revealed by RMC Sport, has still not been formalized by AS Monaco. Friday, there were only the last details to settle in the negotiations between Philippe Clément and the Monegasque management.
The Brugge players are not always aware of the departure of their coach. The Belgians are due to go on training next week, without any information for the moment on the identity of the coach who will lead them.
Philippe Clement, double Belgian champion in title, had signed a CDI in June with Bruges. It corresponds, by its principles of play, to what Paul Mitchell was looking for, namely aggressiveness, high pressing, and significant offensive animation. Niko Kovac’s replacement goal will have to bring ASM closer to the podium. Currently 6th, the Monegasques are only four points behind Marseille, 3rd in the championship. The Principality’s men are still involved in the Europa League, coming out at the top of a strong group, made up in particular of PSV Eindhoven and Real Sociedad.
