From 7,500 spectators to less than five thousand. The Arena returns to shrink due to the Omicron variant and the new decree approved two days ago by the Council of Ministries which brings the maximum level of stadium filling to 50% of the actual capacity. The pledging of the infections brings back to the situation of the beginning of the season: a less harsh solution than that obtained in Germany (doors closed from December 28) or in France (maximum 5 thousand spectators for outdoor events), but which for the city stadium means 675 fewer seats in the lower and upper stands (from 2,025 to 1,350 spectators), 225 in the guest sector (from 675 to 450), 750 in the Gradinata (from 2,225 to less than 1,500) and above all over 800 fewer seats in the Curva North, the most popular sector and the heart of the fans, which goes from 2,500 spectators (with 75% of the capacity) to less than 1,700. A trifle for the passion of the Nerazzurri supporters. So much so that at the beginning of the season the groups of the Curva Nord in unison announced the choice not to enter the home games, a decision that was then revised on the occasion of the subsequent enlargement to 75%. Will it be like this this time too? What is certain is that in the next few days, probably before the presale for Pisa-Frosinone opens, the ultras will meet to underestimate the situation. Which is similar but not entirely analogous to that of the beginning: because to go to the stadium you have the “super green pass” (in addition to the novelty of the Ffp2 mask) and therefore you continue not to enter with only the negative buffer. Indeed, the law has been in force for a few weeks and has not been without repercussions on the choices of the supporters: on the occasion of Pisa-Lecce, in fact, two historical groups of the Curva Nord (Sconvolts and Wanderers) chose not to enter the decision while the other three (Rangers, Kapovolti and Svitati) decided to be present, but remained silent in the first half hour. Meanwhile, albeit under the radar for now, the desire to ask the CTS for the possibility of a new anti-Covid protocol, less restrictive than the current one, is taking a hit among the clubs of A and B. By virtue of two arguments: firstly, the enlargement of the obligation to green passes strengthened to outdoor team sports, introduced by the latest government decree. Then the fact that, according to the same provision, the precautionary quarantine no longer applies to subjects who have had close contacts with positive subjects for whom self-surveillance is in force.
