Munich: Forbidden car racing? 24-year-old rushes with BMW in oncoming traffic
A 24-year-old drove through the north of Munich on Thursday with screeching tires – the consequence was a serious accident.
Munich – A suspected illegal car race in the north of Munich on Thursday (December 30th) caused four injuries and high property damage. A 24-year Munich war with screeching tires left the A9 in Fröttmaning and had accelerated further on Werner-Heisenberg-Allee, as the police announced on Friday.
Munich-Fröttmaning: BMW driver slams into oncoming traffic – four people injured
In a right-hand bend, the man with his BMW left the lane and ran into oncoming traffic. The car collided head-on with a Mercedes. In addition to the driver, his 21-year-old co-driver and both occupants of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old woman and her 19-year-old co-driver, were injured.
Witnesses alerted the police, several patrols as well as the rescue service and fire brigade rushed to the scene of the accident. All accident victims except for the driver’s companion were taken to hospital for treatment.

The 24-year-old now faces serious consequences. He was charged with a prohibited motor vehicle race and negligent bodily harm, and according to the Munich police, his driver’s license was confiscated. Several witnesses had noticed the sound of screeching tires.
