Motorsport.com Netherlands wishes all readers a good but above all healthy 2022!
After the 2020 corona season, the past year was dominated by a cautious recovery. The biggest championships could complete a season full season. The paddock reopened little by little, which is a great start to the lives of our journalists. Finally traveling again, finally real interviews, finally paddock talk again. And that provides for our loyal audience beautiful stories, backgrounds and analyzes. A part of us we have in the book Formula Max, which hit stores the day after the sensational final in Abu Dhabi. We are extremely proud of this book about the 2021 Formula 1 season, but also about the rise of Max Verstappen. As far as we are concerned, it is certainly an asset to the bookcase of the F1 enthusiast.
On the track we were presented with sensational racing action, with a lot of Dutch success. Max Verstappen’s Formula 1 title was celebrated in the country, but Nyck de Vries (Formula E), Jeffrey Herlings (MXGP) and Racing Team Netherlands and Robin Frijns (WEC) were also crowned world champions. Besides that, there were still great Dutch successes to celebrate on many levels. An unprecedentedly successful year for the small country that is the Netherlands.
As editors, the Dutch success on the circuits was reflected in the figures. Interest in the sport in the United States grew significantly. But numbers say everything for a long time, it’s also about quality, content, creativity and depth. Each and every one of these things that Motorsport.com readers appreciate us for. Our Dutch Formula 1 journalists will be present at almost all Grands Prix in 2022 – when all the lights are turned green. In addition, we focus even more on the power of the Motorsport network, for the news and the best stories from the last biggest motorsport countries in the world. Of course there’s always room for improvement, so we’re going to do everything we can to come up with even better stories, more backgrounds, more in-depth analysis and many more interviews in 2022.
Despite all the successes, 2021 again made one thing very clear: racing is a very important side issue. Despite the joy of Verstappen and his fans, and the sadness of the Mercedes and Hamilton supporters, team boss Toto Wolff explained well: “You must not forget the most important thing in life. This is only Formula 1. It is just a sport Much worse things could happen.” That’s how it is.
That is why the editors of Motorsport.com Netherlands wish all readers a beautiful, successful but above all healthy 2022!
