AS Monaco: Kovac – Mitchell, two big news fall to ASM!
While AS Monaco won their ticket to the knockout stages of the Europa League while climbing the slope in Ligue 1 with a sixth place mid-season, two big news fell on the side of the Rock on Thursday!
Indeed, to everyone’s surprise, Niko Kovac was dismissed from his post by the management of the ASM on Thursday evening, as indicated by our colleagues from the newspaper L’Equipe as well as RMC Sport.
The non-qualification in the Champions League at the start of the season, the poor results against the “big guys” in Ligue 1 (defeat against PSG, OM, and OL, draws acquired in pain against LOSC and during the derby against OGC Nice), as well as the mismanagement of the Wissam Ben Yedder case (too often put on the bench in an incomprehensible way and often quickly replaced when he is the holder) … all these elements would therefore have pushed the leaders of AS Monaco to make this decision towards Niko Kovac!
Note also that the current was no longer successful a priori between the Croatian coach and several important players than Wissam Ben Yedder within the ASM workforce.
But another important information also fell on the side of AS Monaco. Announced in Newcastle, which now has large means to recruit during the Mercato since its takeover by a Saudi Arabian sovereign fund, Paul Mitchell should ultimately not leave the management of the Monegasque club this winter.
