They are back in the Toulouse pharmacies. Covid self-tests, which were practically impossible to find last week in the city center, are now available in the majority of dispensaries of the pink city. Good news as we approach the New Year’s Eve on December 31st.
“The situation was very tense last week, most Toulouse pharmacies were out of stock of self-tests, admit Jean-Marie Guillermin, boss of the Halle Aux Grains pharmacy in Toulouse (and also vice-president of the Order of Pharmacists of Occitanie, editor’s note). The situation is significantly improved for the past few days, deliveries have been accelerated. Today, we can find self-tests approximately everywhere in Toulouse. ”
Supermarkets authorized to sell tests
In addition to pharmacies, malls are now allowed to sell self-tests until January 31. This government decision is motivated by the explosion in the number of contamination due in particular to the Omicron variant.
While all the supermarkets in the Toulouse metropolitan area are not yet able to offering self-tests on their shelves for logistical reasons, the situation should settle down in the coming days.
Self-tests: our teams are now 100% mobilized so that they are quickly on the shelves and sold at cost price. As of today, nearly 400 centers @Leclerc will market them at 1.95 euros per test (or 9.75 euros per box of 5). ?? pic.twitter.com/j4fxEibQsN
