Niko Kovac in danger at AS Monaco
Monegasque leaders are considering the idea of separating from their coach to relaunch group dynamics.
It is difficult to qualify the first part of the season for AS Monaco as “bad”. The Red and White are only four points from second place in the league thanks in particular to a last prestigious success against Rennes (2-1). In addition, Niko Kovac’s men finished first in their group in the Europa League and therefore ensured their qualification for the knockout stages.
“The results are rather positive in Europe. Regarding the Championship, we hoped for better than this 6th place but the year 2021, as a whole, was positive with this podium in May (3rd place). Our first part of the season did not may not be perfect but there is time to react. We will analyze this first part and come back stronger in January “
These last two sentences of an intervention signed Oleg Petrov, the vice-president of the ASM, after the victory against Rennes, having succeeded in certain questions, including that of the place of Niko Kovac.
According to The team, Dimitri Rybolovlev, the club president, is said to be unhappy with the club’s situation. A reflection including the identity of play imposed by Kovac but also the weak progression of certain individuals within the workforce like Badiashile or Fofana is conceived.
The French sports daily reports in particular doubts about the “uniform management, almost military and certain tactical instructions considered muddled“from the Croatian coach.
Its place now seems weakened despite a good month of December and Kovac will therefore have to end if he wants to continue on the Rock.
