“At Christmas, Moldova is waiting for you at home.” During the winter holidays, ANTRIM launches a new campaign to promote local tourist offers.
Rural tourism and the simple life of the country, together with the authentic cultural, gastronomic and wine experiences make the Republic of Moldova an authentic tourist destination, which deserves to be discovered, even in a pandemic.
In order to make the tourist offer of our countries even more known and attractive, during the winter holidays, the National Association for Inbound and Domestic Tourism of Moldova (ANTRIM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the Competitiveness Activity in Light Industry and of Tourism MCTA EDGE, funded by USAID launched the campaign “For Christmas, Moldova is waiting for you at home”.
Carried out more in the online environment, the initiative aims to read in the foreground the tourist offer of our countries, during the winter holidays, which includes activities specific to quiet village life: outdoor entertainment, cultural experiences characteristic of rural communities, but also activities . the possibility to know the popular traditions, through them prepared by the housewives of the village, served together with the dishes of quality wines produced by the Moldovan wineries.
Traditionally, during the winter holidays, boarding houses across the country compete in the multitude of activities available to tourists who step on their doorstep. Thus, guests can participate in cooking workshops sarmale, pies and croissants with cherries, can admire the surroundings of the villages going for sleigh rides and can adjust the activities of the stay, according to their preferences.
All this, given that the winter holidays in Moldova have become synonymous with hearty meals, doldora with traditional dishes, around which are seated loved ones and relatives abroad, who follow the exhortation – “For Christmas, Moldova is waiting for you at home . ”.
Thus, the promotion campaign captures the most authentic moments experienced by thousands of families and which are the central message of the 3 videos, with the recipes of the most special traditional dishes (sarmale, polenta steak and cherry croissants) combined with traditional winter harmonies. and the warm atmosphere, from the evening before, to the music of the carols performed by “Sisters Osoianu”.

The winter holidays are about family, and we did not want to convince every guest that in Moldova you can feel at home, at home. In this campaign we show the true, authentic atmosphere of rural life, from Moldovan pensions – the space where traditions are kept sacred. ”
This year’s “Christmas, Moldova is waiting for you at home” campaign is about each of us and reminds us that traditions are highly valued and an asset to Moldova’s tourism offer and only by sharing them with others can we keep them for the future.
The campaign will run until January 7, 2022 and is promoted both in the primary markets for the tourist offer of the countries: Romania, Ukraine, Italy, Poland and other European countries.
