A new case of fake health passes in Gironde unveiled this Tuesday by the prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux. Frédérique Porterie reveals thata forty-something living in Valence in the Drôme one summer imprisoned on December 16 at the Gradignan prison pending trial.
The suspect is suspected of having sold around fifty “false certificates of vaccination against Covid (…) for the benefit of people domiciled overwhelmingly in the Paris region”, specifies this Tuesday the parquet of Bordeaux.
The fake health passes were published on Sunday August 8, 2021 by usurping the digital identity of a doctor at the vaccination center in the town of Arcachon. After the complaint lodged by this healthcare professional, “the technical investigations on the connection data to the Health Insurance site (…) made it possible to identify an individual, well known for many questions. “
Fake health passes sold for 300 to 400 euros each
The suspect and his wife were arrested on December 12 in Valence in Drôme with the assistance of police officers from the Zonal Directorate of the Judicial Police (DZPJ) in the South-East. During house searches, the police officers seize several sums in cash, 1,000 euros and 5,000 Swiss francs, 11 bank cards, five mobile phones as well asa 6.35 caliber automatic pistol with its cartridges.
The two vehicles used by the couple, Audi Q7 and Peugeot 3008, are also seized. The prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux specifies that the alleged trafficker of false health passes has refused to give investigators the codes to unlock his phones and computer hardware.
The suspect faces two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros
Presented to an investigating magistrate on December 16, the respondent was remanded in custody at the Gradignan remand center and his company under judicial supervision with a ban on leaving the national territory.
