Covid. Portugal administered another 74,446 booster doses on the last day
NIn the last 24 hours, almost 100,000 inoculations were made in Portugal against a Covid-19 and against a flu. Of these, 74,446 were booster doses against SARS-CoV-2, according to the daily vaccination report released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS).
According to data from the health authority, 2,643,162 already have a booster dose against Covid-19.
At this time, 8,679,955 residents in the country have completed the primary vaccination course (which includes two doses), with 7,673 having completed it on the last day.
The age group of 80 years and over is the one that contains the percentage of vaccines supplied in the feed, relative to 87% of the population inoculated with the third dose of the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2.
Then follows a population aged 70 to 79 years, in which 85% are already protected with the booster dose. 56% of the population aged between 60 and 69 have already introduced a booster dose, while from 50 to 59 years only 18% have been inoculated with this dose. It should be remembered that the Directorate-General of Health has already recommended the administration of the booster dose to all age groups from 18 years old, with this vaccination being carried out, as it has been so far, in a decreasing manner, that is, the most old to younger ones.
With regard to the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years, a process that started 10 days ago, 95,579 have already been inoculated with the first dose, 60 of which on the last day.
At the same time, 2,381,450 are already vaccinated against the flu in Portugal. 15,997 received this vaccine in the last 24 hours.
