They are missing exactly 38 days until the opening of the Beijing 2022 Games scheduled for February 4th. Work continues on implant preparation. The National Speed Skating Oval, also known as the “ice belt”, is the only new facility built for ice competitions in Olympic Green, the Olympic Park site for the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing. It was built on the Olympic Green Hockey Field used for field hockey and Olympic Green Archery Field, where archery competitions were held. It will host speed skating events and will be awarded in it 14 gold medals.
Among the most suggestive plants, there is the Big Air Shougang, realized in the area of a former steel mill, will host the competitions of big air snowboard and of freestyle skiing. Meanwhile, the Olympic village in the city of Zhangjiakou, in the province of Hebei, in northern China, one of the three competition areas that will host the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, is conducting functional tests, in the presence of over 2,400 people from all walks of life. The tests, which will last a day and a half, cover eight areas of competence, from registration to the canteen service, passing through transport, opening and closing ceremonies.
The co-organizer city of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Zhangjiakou, is putting the finishing touches to the Olympic competition venues, with the podium for the award ceremony of the medals completed on Saturday in the city. The stage design, reminiscent of the shape of a snow-capped mountain, blends elements of natural conditions and snow events in the Zhangjiakou race zone in Hebei Province. The stage will be in operation for 14 days during the Games for the awarding of 49 events and a further seven days during the Paralympic Winter Games for the awarding of about 44 events.
