Chubby donuts in different ways
Pampushki is a traditional sweet dish of the Christmas Eve table. Buttery, plump and sweet, with different ways – it is with them and different.
But this was not always the case, because traditionally songs were prepared for Christmas Eve, and baking was a song. And already on Christmas they fried butter donuts, which were used to treat carolers.

And about the rich owner, who has everything in abundance, they said: floats like a donut in oil.
This pampuh, which exists as the Ukrainian Festival in Lviv during the two to promote the traditional dish – pampuh.
To make the donut dough buttery, add butter, egg yolks, lemon and orange zest, vanilla and cognac to the dough. The filling of holiday donuts is the most diverse – nuts, poppies, cherries, plums, chocolate steamed in verse.
- Milk – 0.5 liters
- Sugar – 120 g
- Vanilla sugar – 1 pc
- Fresh yeast – 40 g
- Flour – 850 g
- Eggs – 2 pcs
- Oil – 4 tbsp. l
- Frying oil – 1 liter
- Poppy – 100 g
- Sugar – 1 tbsp.
- Jam – 100 g
- Chocolate – 100 g
- Cherries – 100 g
There will be a little sweat with the donut dough, but all your wishes will be rewarded with a hundredfold.
Make a paste – dilute the yeast in warm milk, add 8 tbsp. l. flour from the total amount and 2 tbsp. l. sugar. Put the mixture for six months in a warm place.
When I am six months old and bubbles appear on the surface of the dough, knead the dough. To do this, ask the flour in a deep bowl, pour the mash, add oil, beat eggs with sugar and knead the dough.
Leave in a warm place for a year.
During this time, prepare the filling. Choose any of the following. You can steam and grate the poppy yourself or buy a ready-made poppy mass. Choose frozen cherries – thaw them and drain excess liquid.
Break the chocolate into pieces.
When the dough is active, hug it again. Then roll out the layer and cut a glass of round. Lay the filling in the middle of each and open the rest of the dough, fix the edge.
Put the finished donuts on a floured board glued down. Leave them for 10-15 minutes to rise.
Heat 1 liter of oil in a deep pan with a thick bottom or a frying pan. When bubbles appear on the bottom, donuts can be fried.
Dip 3-4 donuts and fry on both sides until golden.
Sprinkle hot donuts with powder.
You can add vanilla sugar to the powder to smell.
Pampushki taste best warm.
