Toulouse: in court, thieves are rarely at the party
Gendarmes and police chase burglars. Caught in flagrante delicto or after investigation, the suspects end up before the Toulouse Criminal Court.
“It’s not me and I have no explanations to give!” “Sir, if the victim had drunk and smoked a cigarette, it is not your DNA that we would have found”, points out the public prosecutor. Another burglary, again in Toulouse. in the Croix-Daurade district. A man who could not sleep saw a glimpse of individuals climbing the fence of a nearby house. The police discovered a forced shutter and two kneeling individuals, wearing socks instead of gloves. The two men, plus an accomplice who was waiting in a vehicle, were arrested and taken into police custody. The trio, originally from Georgia, found themselves together before the Toulouse Criminal Court.
The three men reported to have spotted the house which seemed to them uninhabited: “We did not know where to sleep. We just wanted to squat …”, tries one of the defendants. “They wore socks so they wouldn’t leave fingerprints. It requires a prison with continued detention.
Unknown to the courts, the three men were sentenced to eight months in prison with continued detention, plus three years of ban from French territory.
