Activists protest at Egmont Palace in Brussels where Consultation Committee meets – Belgium
(Belga) At the Egmont Palace in Brussels, where the Consultation Committee is available, about 30 activists protested against the corona measures this afternoon. That is what the police zone Brussels Capital Ixelles says.
Het Laatste Nieuws reported that the police had erected barricades in front of the Eg palace and the Brussels police that of Belga. The bet was short-lived and took place from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. Everything went smoothly. “There were no incidents,” said police spokeswoman Ilse Van dekeere. The 30 people who showed up expressed themselves against the corona measures. “Free zone”, one of the protest signs read. The Consultation Committee has been meeting again since 2 pm to discuss the corona situation. Where a few weeks ago there was still talk of possible relaxation in the run-up to the end of the year, that is now completely abandoned. The new omikron variant of the coronavirus is ruining the fight, possibly causing stricter measures. (Belgium)
