Charity concert at the St. Teresa’s Church in Avila, Budapest, for the benefit of the Regőczi István Foundation | Hungarian Courier
The Makám ensemble performs every Advent at the Teresa Temple. This year they gave a free charity concert – the donations raised at the event were offered to help the Covid orphans by joining the “Being Good” advent public donation.
Greetings from Zoltán Horváth, archbishop and parish priest as host, spoke about how this charity evening took place and what personal connection he had with Father István Regőczi.
President János Áder and his wife, Anita Herczegh, were also present at the event.
Anita Herczegh thanked for the occasion of this charity evening at St. Teresa’s Church with the Makám ensemble and said that the Regőczi Foundation would not only support the Covid orphans now, but also accompany them until they reach adulthood, possibly with a university degree. undertakes to support their studies. We already have over a thousand supporters, which is more than six hundred families.
“We cannot stand idly by and all that the epidemic is causing in the lives of Hungarian families. In addition to our prayers, we must do something, said Anita Herczegh. – This is how the intention to establish the foundation was born. Several people joined us and the board of trustees was formed. We chose Father István Regőczi because he dedicated his life abroad and then at home to helping orphaned children. ”
The music and lyrics of the charity concert were about the waiting for the Messiah and the living reality of God among us, as well as all the atmosphere that the celebration of Christmas gives to families and people.
After the concert of the band Makám, the presidential couple had a long conversation with the artists and members of the audience.
