Trenitalia is thinking about extending the international HSL train to Brussels and Amsterdam
The carrier Trenitalia to offer the possibility to offer the offer to foreign speed train out to Belgium and possibly even to the Netherlands. Since last week, the transport company has established a new international connection linking Milan to Paris via Turin and Lyon.
The business newspaper FD messages extending the train connection based on the Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore The plans are to first continue to Brussels, and later possibly to Amsterdam. It’s part of the Italian company’s wider plan to run the Frecciarossa, Italy’s TGV counterpart, across Europe and even the UK.
Trenitalia is not yet finalizing the plans, but this addition will be for the various night trains that are currently and in the future running through Europe. Including the Green City Trip from Breda to Verona, Prague and Vienna, the Nightjets to Innsbrück, Vienna and a separate one to Zurich, and the European Sleeper, which should start in the summer of 2022 to Prague.
