a film festival for the youngest at the cinémathèque
Attention budding moviegoers: the Festival Cinémathèque junior returns to Toulouse. The youngest take part in creative and immersive workshops on the world of cinema until December 22. The appointment is given to the film library of the pink city.
From Monday, December 20, children are invited to participate in an activity around Charlie Chaplin. In the program : decors, characters and accessories in cut paper. All through a traditional technique, but professional tools. For this workshop “Charlot sur le Ring” accessible from 7 years old, the price is 10 euros.
Animations on film and diversion of well-known films
Tuesday, December 21, the workshop “Cinema without a camera, it’s possible!” will return to the scene. What is film? An old recording medium placed in the camera. However, the film can be handled without a camera, via a scratching technique. For 2h30, children aged 10 and over create different tools, shapes, stripes… In short, real animations on film, always for 10 euros.
Next, the “Mashup!” will leave room for the imagination of children. From images and sounds from already existing animated films, they can create their own story. It is not a question of using an editing software but rather maps and an interactive table. The assembly will be collective, for the usual amount.
Screening and old Walt Disney film
“To crush !” will be back on Wednesday December 22 at 2 p.m. But first, the light will be shed on the animation “The magic lantern”. A reference to the old projection technique that appeared before the cinema. Pictures painted on glass were then used. Here, children can create their own plaques by the light of a century-old lantern, while listening to traditional tales. A workshop at the price of 5 euros.
The “Alice Comedies Volume 2” cine-snack will then accompany the afternoon, from 4 pm. An old Walt Disney movie will then be broadcast. At the time, he used both drawings and actual images. In the story told, Alice experiences adventures in the company of her group of friends. Fishing, meeting with Eskimos, discovering a circus… With the Chambre d’Hote Orchestra and Manu Chao providing musical accompaniment.
Eclectic projections
Wednesday is rich in activities since at 4 p.m. also, two other delocalized activities will be offered. Families can for example find “The Old Man and the Child” at Departmental Museum of Resistance and Deportation. The synopsis is as follows: “During World War II, a Jewish family from entrust your child under a false identity to a retired couple living in the countryside. ”The session is recommended from 8 years old and will be followed by a discussion, on free admission.
In another register, the film library offers screenings at Jean Marais cinema d’Aucamville at the price of 4 euros for children under 14. With his film series “Fantastic silent!” the festival will introduce films dating from 1902 to 1921. On the menu : The journey to the moon by Georges Méliès, Electric hotel by Segundo de Chomón, Doctor Madness Tube Abel Gance and Malec in ghosts by Buster Keaton and Eddie Cline. Enough to get lost in the fantastic imagination of cinema.
