Our cute little ones didn’t want to separate from their mothers, the shooting of the clip describes the singer
You and Prague are in the main role of the clip, how did you play together?
I dare say that the actress Prague has the upper hand, because it suits her in every shot. But in addition to us, there are many other actors who were excellently chosen by the bandleader Honza Kalina from among our friends and acquaintances. Many thanks to everyone.
Historic center, astronomical clock, Lesser Town cemetery… What is your relationship to Prague?
Because I am not a native of Prague, but a so-called floodplain, I still have something to discover in Prague. However, the truth remains that with the workload I have, I rarely get to explore. But if that happens, I like to walk through the historic center, where I look for secluded streets and enjoy their beauty. I lived in many of its districts in Prague, but in the end I settled in Holešovice and I like it because it has grown to my heart, and I enjoy the way I still cultivate.
The music is captivating, as is the lyrics. What do you like about this song?
Petrauch’s music is really very subconscious, and I think that Ostroman excels in the wonderful text by Tomáš Belek, who presents Prague as a silent witness not only to the course of history, but also to our lives. Petr and Tomáš have written many songs together and I like how the lyrics and music of this song blend beautifully. I love her, Prague, the song and the city that is depicted in it.
In the clip, which can be seen on YouTube, you take groups of children away from kindergarten, walk through the city and life, and walk to the cemetery – how did the clip turn out for you?
It starts and ends with the children in the clip. The whole shooting started with shots with the smallest ones and it was a good move, because it was really the most challenging. Our cute little ones didn’t want to separate from their mothers to be taken away by a woman all in black. How many new cars and other engaging toys were promised there!
The song has been tested on last year’s album for 30 years on people you released to the band’s logs. Which songs are your favorites?
All. It’s hard to choose one, I really like them all. And again, I have to pay tribute to Honza Kalin, who folded them behind him. When I listen to it, I’m happy how one song flows after another, the tempos and moods change great. Tomáš Belko did an excellent lyric work again and I am convinced that everyone will find their favorite among his micro-stories.
How long have you been studying at the Holešovice base, where you also met Honza Kalina?
I work in Tusarca, as we like to call our elementary school in Tusarova Street, for as long as in a band. Honza Kalina and I actually met here in the 1990s, and we have been dragging our animal cart together ever since. Over the years, there have been several principals and directors of the school, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their indulgence, understanding, and helpfulness in my occasional escapes due to band restrictions. And not only to them, but also to my colleagues and colleagues who are willing to represent me in my absence. I am very grateful to them all.
Turning away from the news, how do you, as a teacher, sing one of your most famous songs, “Dude, in elementary school,” which has about seven million views on YouTube?
Neither we nor the audience can imagine a concert without this song. At the time of its creation, the then ninth-graders followed me and wanted us to have this song as a school anthem. I didn’t mind, but it didn’t work out.
Last year, the band celebrated 30 years on stage, you are in it from the beginning, a woman herself among many men. How it goes?
I think we’re doing really well together. And that I’m a teacher? After all, boys are also teachers… And the recipe for successful cooperation is guaranteed to be the humor that still accompanies us.
