Survey Moldovan citizens do not want the country to join NATO – News by sources
The idea of integrating the Republic of Moldova into the European Union is agreed by 38% of the citizens. This shows the data of a survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI).
At the same time, according to the survey, 22% of respondents are in favor of Moldova’s accession to the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union.
The study also reveals that a large part of Moldovans do not resonate with the idea of Moldova’s accession to NATO, IPN reports.
Asked if they are for or against the accession of the Republic of Moldova as a member of the Eurasian Union, 22% of respondents mentioned that they are definitely for. 27% said they were more for and 18% were against.
At the same time, when asked if they are for or against the accession of the Republic of Moldova as a member of the European Union, 38% of the respondents mentioned that they are definitely for.
Also, 26% of respondents mentioned that they are rather pro, and 16% chose the option certainly against the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The survey also shows that a large part of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova do not accept the idea of countries joining the North Atlantic Alliance.
Thus, the survey data show that they would have organized a referendum on Moldova’s accession to NATO, 46% of citizens would vote against, 21% voted in favor of joining the politico-military alliance, and 17% of respondents would not. a voting option.
Compared to 2014, there is an increase in the number of citizens who reject the idea of joining NATO.
According to the IRI poll, in September 2014, only 31% of citizens were against joining NATO.
