Puzzled and contradictory in statements, with the expired travel document, but with a clear intention to work abroad – is the deed of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, stopped by employees of the Leuseni Border Police Sector. The man risks a criminal fine for attempting to cross the border by evading border control.
The border policemen who exercise their duties in the area of responsibility, more precisely in the vicinity of the bridge that connects the Leuşeni and Albiţa crossing points, acted to detain a man. He was trying to get closer to the left bank of the Prut River, slipping through the vegetation.
The person was soon detained and transported to the Sector’s headquarters for preliminary documentation. A passport issued in his name by the authorities of the Russian Federation was found on him, but it had expired for seven years.
After being questioned, the 47-year-old man announced that he is a native of the Republic of Moldova and also has citizenship, but he cannot confirm it with a document. In the other statements provided, the person disagrees on the place and reason for being in the border area. What is certain is that I will want to come to Romania for a better paid job.
In retaliation, investigations were initiated into the man’s name to establish all the circumstances. He risks a criminal fine according to art. 362 al. (1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova.
