There will be change boulevard de Suisse, in Toulouse, Saturday, December 18, 2021. An emblematic brand of the district, The House of Painting, indeed closes its doors at number 105 to move to a new room 300 meters away.
The brand is moving
“As you have known for several years, our head office at 105 Bd in Switzerland must relocate to make way for 3e underground line. In order to move and welcome you in the best conditions to the new premises located 300 m away, the store and depot at 105 bd de suisse will be closed from Saturday, December 18, 2021, said Sonia Paulhe, the manager.
The brand will open in its new premises, at 3 rue Ferdinand Lassalle, on January 3, 2022. Premises that belonged to the Delec company.
The current building soon to be destroyed
“During this period of closure, our other Toulouse depots at 185 Rte de Revel and 49 bis bd de Thibaud are open to welcome and serve you,” adds the manager.
The current premises, built on Boulevard de Suisse in the 1980s, will be demolished in the first quarter of 2022. The store will be located underground in a few years, one of the stations of the future 3e underground line.
The 3rd metro line
In a few weeks, the current 3,500 m² building will therefore be destroyed. The plot measures 7000 m².
Tisséo Collectivités, the organizing authority for transport in the Toulouse metropolitan area, is indeed planning an underground station for the 3e underground line.
Base for the metro site
“We demolish the buildings and we treat the soil, the civil engineering works will be launched at the end of 2022”, detailed a few months ago in News Toulouse, Jean-Michel Lattes, deputy mayor of Toulouse and president of Tisséo Ingénierie. “The plot left free by the Maison de la Peinture will be one of the bases for the construction of the third metro line”.
Parking in the future?
For the post-construction period, nothing has yet been finalized as to the precise future of this 7,000 m² plot, once all the buildings have been demolished. Since the Maison de la Peinture is located near the ring road, Jean-Michel Lattes did not exclude parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the station.
