At the meeting of the council, a tripartite agreement was also approved between the Capital City, the city district of Prague 8 and Metrostav Alfa, which ends years of disputes, as a result of which the construction has stopped.
Years of delay
Nová Palmovka, a complex worth approximately 1.1 billion crowns, which was to include the new seat of the City Hall of Prague 8 and originally also premises for shops and services, were approved in 2010. Seven years later, Prague representatives agreed to provide funding for the Prague district 8 in the amount of up to 60 million crowns, which were for the completion of the project, in the framework of which, in addition to the town hall, the seat of the Medical Rescue Service of the capital was to be established. m of Prague.

Palmovka is waiting for a big transformation
What or who the building will be used for after its completion could be obvious in the first half of next year. The municipality is currently considering three options: either the European space program agency would be located here, or officials of municipal companies, or Prague will offer the buildings in a concession. However, none of the variants envisages that the object would be sold.
By taking over the project, the Capital City of Prague, Palmovka will hopefully finally get rid of the unsightly construction site and become a full-fledged part of the planned changes of the entire locality. “We have been working on the coordinated development of this part of Prague 8 for more than a year. This now opens up the possibility of connecting the territory of Nová Palmovka with the planned new multifunctional district in Palmovka, ”said Petr Hlaváček, First Deputy Mayor for Territorial Development.
He added that as part of the territorial study, housing in city flats, services and civic amenities, including a new primary school for existing and new residents, are primarily planned in Palmovka.
