Toulouse: traders in rue du Faubourg Bonnefoy will be compensated
After several months of anger, the merchants of the rue du Faubourg Bonnefoy who are undergoing work on the new metro line will, finally, be compensated next February.
It has been nine long months since the works on the rue du Faubourg Bonnefoy began. They are the beginnings of the next Bonnefoy metro station which will open at the same time as the third metro line, in 2028. But for traders who suffer from the noise and the rubble in front of their shop, the year 2021 will have been, without doubt. , hard.
Many of them hope to obtain compensation to compensate for the loss of their turnover related to this work which goes on forever. Dominique Dusfour, for example, who manages the hairdressing salon of the same name, estimated his losses at nearly 3,000 euros per month. “Since the works started, the turnover has stagnated or decreased. We have clients that we don’t see anymore. It is difficult to give an exact figure, but I estimated my losses at 150 euros per day ”.

In the Le Galo’Pain bakery, right next to the hairdressing salon, Aude Sanchez, the co-manager is exasperated. “Three to five months of work, as announced, it could do. But nine months is too much, ”she explains. “I had to take out a government guaranteed loan to hold on.” She hopes to get around 60 to 70,000 euros. “These are my estimated losses.”
Another store, same problematic. Maxime * opened a second telephone repair shop on rue du Boulevard Bonnefoy in September 2021. Work had already started by then. “It’s true that my activity never really started at this store. For a while, you had to walk over a plank over a hole to get to my store ”.
It is Souhayla Marty, the district mayor of Bonnefoy who confirms that compensation will be paid to traders: “We are in the process of clarifying the compensation protocol. It takes a little time, because it is a first. We want to create a reliable and egalitarian legal framework for traders, ”explains the neighborhood mayor. Then, compensation should be paid in February 2022 ”. It remains to be seen whether the latter will meet the expectations of traders.
