Monaco regain Euroleague victory in Kaunas for Sasa Obradovic’s premiere
The La Roca team has character. Traveling in the hostile atmosphere of the Zalgirio Arena in Kaunas, the Monegasques broke their streak of five consecutive Euroleague defeats (107-98, ap) for the first of Sasa Obradovic, back on the bench.
Monaco has always complicated the task by conceding a very avoidable extension, on an offensive rebound followed by a basket from Edgaras Ulanovas, alone under the circle for Zalgiris (95-95, 40th). A cruel end of regulation time for the Roca Team who had delivered a superb fourth quarter, produced by Mike James (20 points, 14 assists), Dwayne Bacon (19 points) and Alpha Diallo (13).

At ten days of Christmas, Mike James began his early distribution of gifts. The American leader broke his record for assists in the Euroleague with 14 caviars.
But the defense of the men of the Rock finally responded after 40 minutes of mistakes and inaccuracies. For five minutes, Zalgiris Kaunas chained bad shots and loss of ball while Obradovic’s players inquired, calmly, halfway through Rob Gray (12 points) and the inevitable Bacon. To finally force the Zalgiris and its 7,400 spectators to concede defeat.
