Russian House in Phnom Penh donates humanitarian aid to Cambodian orphanage – Society
HANOI, December 13th. / TASS /. On the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, the Russian House in Phnom Penh donated humanitarian aid to an orphanage in the Cambodian province of Mondolkiri. This was reported to TASS on Monday by the director of the Russian House in Phnom Penh, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Cambodia, Irina Tsatsulina.
According to her, humanitarian actions on New Year’s and Christmas days have become a good tradition at the Russian House in Phnom Penh. This time, the Russian House team visited the State Orphanage of Mondolkiri Province. School stationery, food and New Year gifts were donated to the children. “We hope that this meeting will mark the beginning of strong friendship and long-term cooperation. We will always be glad to see children from the orphanage in our center, ”said the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office.
The deputy director of the orphanage, Hem Vibol, said that orphans and children from low-income single-parent families live there. “Most of the guys are from ethnic minorities. The support provided by the Russian House in Phnom Penh is of great importance for our pupils,” she said.
Assistance to the State Orphanage of Mondolkiri Province is not the first humanitarian action of the Rossrudotnichestvo office in Cambodia in recent months. Earlier, Reaxmey in Phnom Penh received food, detergents and disinfectants, drinks and sweets. Practical assistance in combating the spread of the COVID-19 disease was provided by the Yeish Russian House in Cambodia to the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital, donating a batch of disinfectant solution.
