Construction of 21 kilometers of the D6 motorway is scheduled to begin next year. It will reach Podbořansko
The Roads and Nothing Directorate (ŘSD) wants to start building three sections of the D6 Prague – Karlovy Vary next year, with a total length of 21 kilometers. They will bring the highway from the capital to the southern part of the Ústí Region. Three parts in the Rakovnicko region are to be completed in 2025, and the people of the Podbořany region will then speed up significantly and improve their connections with Prague.

The D6 motorway from the capital currently ends near Krušovice, the sections near Krupá, Hořesedel and Hořoviček will bring it to Podbořansko. The construction of the Hořovičky bypass will also include the reconstruction of the Jesenice crossroads. The current dangerous crossing of roads I / 6 Prague – Karlovy Vary and I / 27 Most – Plzeň will change to extra-level.
In recent days, ŘSD has announced a tender for the contractor of the five-kilometer section near Hořovičky. “Property rights are still being prepared for the construction and an application for a building permit is being prepared. We expect the construction to start in the second half of next year, “said Radek Mátl.

Work on the six and a half kilometer long section near Krupá should start much earlier. ŘSD has a building permit, after long delays it has also selected a contractor, an archaeological survey has recently ended. “We expect the construction to start in early 2022,” the organization said.
The ŘSD wants to start building the section between the two mentioned parts, ie the Hořesedel bypass, next year as well. If it works out, it will probably be in its conclusion. He does not yet have a building permit for the nine-kilometer motorway.
After the completion of all three sections, the journey to Prague will be significantly accelerated for drivers from the Podbořany region. After the recently completed Lubenec bypass, Krupá, Hořesedl and Hořovičky will be avoided, which should speed up the journey by about ten minutes on the mentioned twenty kilometers.
The preparation of the three-kilometer Želkovice bypass has entered the next phase
Directly in the Podbořany region, two of the three D6 sections are completed – the Lubenec bypass and the adjoining part to the borders of the Karlovy Vary region. Twelve kilometers of the motorway between Lubenec and the Jesenice sphere is to be built between 2024 and 2026. The ŘSD has started to purchase land and is preparing to apply for a building permit. A preliminary archaeological survey was also carried out. Upon completion, drivers on the route between Prague and Karlovy Vary will avoid all municipalities, as the last one will get rid of transit traffic in St. Petersburg in the south of the Ústí Region.
According to current plans, the entire D6 motorway is to be completed in 2028. Four sections in the Karlovy Vary region are to be built last.
