The market for delivery services in Prague is growing. They bring food, drugstore and vibrator to customers
The new online food retailer Levito express market has headed to the Prague market. Customers should receive their order within 45 minutes, with delivery being possible only in Prague and the surrounding area. Levito Market has been focusing on express delivery in Prague for three years now, and plans to expand to other cities with its new Levito Market service. Where, the company has not specified it yet.
Customers can choose goods both on the Levitoo Market website and in the mobile application. The range includes food, drugstore, pet supplies as well as tobacco. Levitoo was not very strong in the early days of its existence. It has not been possible to find investors for expansion into the Austrian and German markets and therefore it is currently focused only on the Czechia.
“The pandemic itself definitely accelerated our entire Levitoo project and also generated the associated implementation of Levitoo Market services,” said Levitoo founder Jaroslav Matula.
The Wolt delivery service offers a slightly wider range, which also launched its brand new Wolt Market at the end of November. This is again the delivery of food from our own – so far the only – supermarket in Prague’s Smíchov. They promise delivery in tens of minutes.
So far, the Wolt delivery service offers the widest selection of types of goods compared to the competition, ie from food, through drugstores and electronics to erotic aids and flowers. “I have a wide range of partners in various segments – such as bookstores, jewelry, interior accessories or even clothing. One would find all these categories of stores in one’s shopping center, which is why we want to have them on Wolta as well, “said Jan Foret, head of Wolta’s Czech branch, in an interview with E15.
The Dame Eve company is also experiencing a massive increase among delivery services. She is not far behind either and this year she launched her Dame market service. It offers groceries, a drugstore, as well as pet food, toys or basic household items.
“We want to be the Czech leader in the field of fast business, which is minted by our mother – the multinational company Delivery Hero. We will deliver any goods, whether they are food, medicine or drugstores, within half an hour, “said Petr Indra, Sales Director of Dame Food, in an interview with the E15 daily.
With its own “market”, it is only waiting for the Estonian startup Bolt, which is known mainly for operating alternative taxi services. The company also has its own Bolt food delivery company in the Czech Republic, under which it plans to launch its own Bolt Market from the summer. It will also offer food and hygiene items within fifteen minutes of ordering.
“We are going to launch it in the coming months not only in the Czech Republic, but also in other Central European countries,” Jakub Dvořák, the company’s country manager, told the E15 daily.
People outside Prague are acquiring metropolitan habits
All these prudent services place great emphasis on the express import of goods and this is what distinguishes them from the delivery giants, such as Rohlík or Košík. The customer will receive an order from them within a few hours. However, the companies Rolík or Košík offer a much larger selection of food and already operate in several cities.
In regions outside Prague, interest in such a service is growing. “Although Prague has long been involved in most orders, the regions are gaining in importance. Consumer behavior is changing significantly here due to the fact that, for example, the population from Prague with metropolitan habits is increasingly moving to Central Bohemia, “said Tomáš Jeřábek, CEO of Košice.
