Blow for Moldovan CC judges: Maia Sandu rejected salary increase – News by sources
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, returned on Friday, December 10, to the Parliament Law no. 204 of December 6, 2021 regarding the amendment of some normative acts regarding the budgetary-fiscal legislation 2022.
The head of state took this decision on the grounds that the law includes an amendment, regarding the remuneration of the employees of the Constitutional Court, for which there is no positive opinion of the Government, the press of the Republic of Moldova reports.
They reminded that the increase of the salaries of the CCM judges was not accepted by the Government during the December 3 meeting. It is about the negative opinion on an amendment to change the fiscal-fiscal policy.
According to the calculations made by the former prime minister of the country, Ion Chicu, the salaries of CC magistrates rise from 44,735 to almost 82,000.
Even so, the budget changes were voted on at the December 6 sitting of Parliament.
PAS MP Olesea Stamate confirmed these increases, noting that “the country’s independence must be ensured with a decent salary”.
Although she approved an opinion stating that it is not acceptable to lift the levy for constitutional judges on December 8, after the amendment was voted by Parliament, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said the increase is justified.
