What are you going to do
As our part-time employee you are the business card of the organization and you take care of the entire blood collection process. And that involves a lot:
- donors warmly and with a smile welcome and outside;
- medical examination of blood and plasma donors;
- promote venipunctures;
- light technical cleaning work;
- donor registration and contact with our donors to schedule our appointments.
As an employee of the Amsterdam blood sampling cluster, you are part of a close-knit team of 23 employees. Together with your colleagues you take care of the entire collection process, whereby you are well aware of the behavior of the donors. Sanquin thinks quality is very important and that is why the activities you perform are recorded in procedures. It is important that you enjoy working and that you handle it accurately. You will be taught this way of working during the internal training you receive at Sanquin.
Where you will work
Sanquin is a not-for-profit organization that is responsible for the need for blood and blood products in the Netherlands. In addition to removing, processing and processing blood products, Sanquin also contains medicines from plasma. Safe production and delivery of blood products for the treatment of patients is paramount with due regard for good health. This is done at the blood bank, where the blood collection employees work. In the Netherlands, about 720,000 donations are made every year by donors who donate their blood selflessly. This takes place at more than 100 locations throughout the Netherlands.
Your profile
- MBO diploma in care (doctor’s assistant, nursing, nursing IG)
- Experience with removing blood (products) and venipunctures is an advantage;
- Available for a minimum of 16 hours per week, the working hours are based on the opening hours of the collection location, which is open at varying times throughout the week (between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm). You work an average of 3 days a week, of which at least 1 evening;
- You can be deployed flexibly according to the schedule at the Plemanlaan and Valkenburgerstraat locations
- To ensure good donor satisfaction, you work meticulously, you are flexible and socially skilled and you can easily perform between tasks;
- You bear responsibility and, despite the strict protocols, you contribute ideas on how to permanently improve the process.
Our offer

This is a job for 16-20 hours a week. The terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Sanquin Collective Labor Agreement (FWG scale 30), based on a 36-hour week, are as follows:
- A gross salary of at least €1,833 to a maximum of €2,730 per month. You will be graded on the basis of your relevant experience and capabilities;
- A contract of 7 months with possibility of extension;
- Working hours ranging from 8am to 9pm, in 4 to 8 hour sessions per day. We work by means of a flexible schedule and this is known 4 weeks in advance;
- We are open once a month on Saturday morning for our plasma collection
- If you work after 6 p.m., you will receive a 40% irregularity allowance;
- 8.33% end-of-year bonus and 8.33% holiday allowance, can be taken flexibly;
- 201 hours of leave with full-time (36 hours) employment;
- A generous travel allowance in costs, allowance from the first kilometer;
- Every 3 years € 2,000 development budget for your professional ambitions.
