A truck carrying soda lies down on the A28 between Abbeville and Rouen
A tanker truck carrying hazardous materials lay down on the A28 motorway north of Neufchâtel-en-Bray (Seine-Maritime) in the direction of Abbeville. Traffic is diverted.
Traffic was completely cut off in both directions this Friday noon, December 10, 2021 on the A28 motorway between Abbeville and Rouen after an accident in the territory of the town of Ménonval (Seine-Maritime).
It was just before the Ménonval toll station that a tanker truck carrying soda and traveling on the A28 in the direction Rouen> Abbeville, lay down on its side across the traffic lanes.
The driver of the truck, seriously injured, remained trapped in the passenger compartment of the towing vehicle.
The SDIS 76 has implemented a major rescue system with around twenty firefighters, including a team specializing in chemical risks.
According to initial findings, no solder leaks were detected.

If traffic on the A28 in the direction Abbeville-Rouen was restored a little after 3 p.m., a detour was always put in a good part of the afternoon for the vehicles occurring place coming from Rouen and going in the direction of Picardy.

The tanker lifting operations took time and require a lot of precautions because of the dangerousness of the product contained inside.
The truck was removed a little before 5:00 p.m. and traffic completely reopened in the process.
