He is one of the basic men of the Toulouse pack. Since his arrival in the Pink City in 2017, from Auckland Blues, the pillar of New Zealand international law Charlie faumuina (34; 50 caps, last July 8, 2017) never disappointed with the jersey Red and black.
Solid as a rock in melee, he quickly made himself indispensable thanks to his qualities of movement and individual technique well above average for a player of his size (1.85m; 124 kg). soon to be 35 years old (December 24), he looks like a “dad” to the young Toulouse guard, but does not yet know what his sporting future will be like next season, since he is at the end of the contract with Toulouse in June 2022.
“I feel good and I hope to play again”
Present at a press conference, this Tuesday, December 7, four days before the start of the European Stadist campaign (Saturday, December 11 in Cardiff), New Zealander Charlie Faumuina returned to his contractual situation at the Stade Toulousain, by expressing the desire to pursue his career, with the humility and discretion that he is known for: “I hope to play … I think I can play for several more years, Finally, I hope. I still feel good in any case, ”he simply blurted out.
The All Black still feels capable of stringing together high-level performances, and its recent performances with Stade Toulousain are there to attest to this. You will understand, he does not plan to hang up his crampons in June 2022 and intends to offer himself a final challenge in Toulouse, or elsewhere… Who says ?
