Wolfgang Porsche buys Stefan Zweig’s former villa in Salzburg
The Jewish writer Stefan Zweig lived in the property on Kapuzinerberg in Salzburg’s old town until 1934. The new owner aims for a mixture of public and private use.
Writer Stefan Zweig spent 15 years in the city of Salzburg, almost a quarter of his life. In the Villa dem Kapuzinerberg, where Zweig lives with his wife Friderike von Winternitz and their two daughters from their first marriage, the Viennese-born wrote many works between 1919 and 1934 that established his world fame. In the villa in the immediate vicinity of the Capuchin Monastery, greats from art and culture were guests again and again.
