Rugby player suspended for racist remarks will not be able to play 13 in Avignon
The Avignon rugby player who had made racist remarks on a pitch will not be able to replay before the end of his suspension in April 2022. Ludovic Radosavljevic had been made redundant by Provence Rugby (Pro D2), his rugby union club, but the Avignon rugby union club wanted to give him a “Second chance”. The Steering Committee of the French Rugby Union at 13 finally refuses that “Rado” – it is its nickname – to return on a ground before six months.
No second chance before April 2022
The player had denounced himself, he had even apologized after racist remarks against a Cameroonian player from Nevers. It was last September and the player had been suspended for six months by the rugby union federation 15. In Avignon, his friends had convinced the SOA rugby 13 club to give him a “Second chance”. The president of SOA 13 even had “a discussion with the player before the first training” to remind him of the club’s values. Faced with the request for a provisional license, the rugby union federation had been seized by its ethics committee. The federation takes into account “the wide media coverage of the player’s comments and the major stake of society in the fight against racism in the stadiums”. It therefore does not grant no license to Ludovic Radosavljevic who will not be able to return to the field until after April 25, when his suspension has been served.
