Index – Culture – My Chemical Romance concert in Budapest
Although the wait has been a bit long due to the virus situation, the members of My Chemical Romance make up for it all.
The band will embark on a world tour next year, which will also affect the Hungarian capital: on June 7, 2022, the band will take the stage in Budapest Park – read the organizers’ announcement.
The band’s history began as a result of the terrorist attacks of 11 November 2001, when frontman Gerard Way and their then drummer Matt Pelissier decided to form a band. Just three months after their formation, they even released their debut album You brought my bullets, you brought your love with the title.
Although their music is often defined as simple rock or rough, dangerous pop, it really mixes a variety of effects from pop point to emo to glam rock.
The international breakthrough for the band was released in 2004 Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge brought a record that has been platinum-rated in several countries. Already in 2005, they toured as the pre-band of Green Day, and then toured the world on their own. They were extremely prolific during this period, so in the fall of 2006 they released another album The black parade which is truly a rock opera. The album has received very good reviews in general, a Welcome to the Black Parade and the single also topped No. 1 on the UK charts.
The team’s fourth major album, which has since been replaced, arrived in 2010 Dangerous Days: The True Life of Fabulous Killjoyes in March 2013, however, to the greatest sorrow of the fans, their dissolution was announced. Members remained active individually and reunited in December 2019 after a six-year hiatus – tickets to the concert, originally thought to be a one-off event, ran out in minutes, as did their triple stadium performance, which was later announced.
Although more had to wait for their return due to the virus situation, the team thanked the audience for their perseverance with a tour around the world. The good news is that Hungary is not left out of the queue: On June 7, 2022, My Chemical Romance will perform in Budapest Park.
